Lunch Lecture: World-class technical education at Fab Lab

In our next lunch lecture, we welcome Svavar Konráðsson, Project Manager at Fab Lab Ísafjörður. Fab Lab Ísafjörður will introduce Fab Academy – a six-month program where participants learn to design and build (almost) anything while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and digital fabrication.

The session will also highlight Fab Futures, a series of month-long courses starting next week. Fab Futures is designed as training for the jobs of the future, offering participants the opportunity to learn data analysis, game development, microchip design, startup creation, product design for mass production, and much more – all under the guidance of leading experts in their fields.

Svavar Konráðsson is a project manager at Fab Lab and teaches digital design and fabrication in the Fab Academy, at the Ísafjörður Upper Secondary School (MÍ), and in elementary schools across the northern Westfjords. He holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iceland, is one of the founders of the Team Spark racing team, and previously worked as a designer at the boatbuilding company Rafnar.

The presentation will take place in the cafeteria at the University Centre of the Westfjords and will start at 12:10. The presentation will also be streamed via a Zoom link, which can be found here: https://eu01web.zoom.us/j/69947471079
