Course: Sustainable Waste Management in Coastal Communities

This course provides a general overview of the current situation of waste management and future-oriented options for action. Various waste management systems are presented using international examples. For selected types of waste, appropriate disposal options are discussed, taking into account the waste hierarchy (prevention, reuse, recycling, disposal) and their impact on sustainability.
