The course provides a critical exploration of current issues related to food security, food sovereignty, food justice, and food system sustainability and resilience. Using frameworks from human geography and related disciplines, students will explore the complex structures and relationships of both production and value chains, here under the distribution, consumption and disposal of food waste. A special focus is set on coastal communities. Participatory learning, community engagement and critical pedagogy are core course approaches.
