Summer Field School, Painting Nature in Þingeyri. The course will take place twice this summer: 13th-19th June and 22nd-28th August 2010.

The beautiful scenery of Dýrafjorður in the Westfjords is the perfect setting for a fertile combination of nature and creativity. With its spectacular blue sea and flourishing wild life, the area is filled with inspiration.

The old fishing village of Þingeyri is situated in Dýrafjorður within the spectacular mountain range called "the Icelandic Alps". Here you find the highest mountain of the Westfjords and an ever-changing light. You will not find a better setting for studying and learning to paint the wild, colourful and unique Icelandic nature.

In close co-operation with the University Centre of Westfjords and the Art School Rögnvaldar Ólafssonar in Ísafjörður the coffee house and cultural centre Simbahöllin is very proud to present Painting Nature. We are looking forward to welcoming all participants and we guarantee everyone a unique experience combining culture, nature and travelling.
