This course provides an overview of theories and research on migration and population development from the perspectives of economics, geography, and social sciences.


Upon completion of this course, students

  • will be able to systematically examine theories on migration and population development from the perspective of economics, geography and social sciences.
  • will be able to bring recent and historical developments in a context.
  • will have demonstrated ability in reading scientific papers and critically evaluating them.
  • will be able to present and explain findings from the scientific literature and discuss them with peers.
