Requirements for acceptance to courses are generally the same as for acceptance to the master’s program in whole, i.e. that applicants have completed undergraduate studies, regardless of whether BA, BSc, BEd, or other equivalent study.

The admission of students is subject to the approval of the Master's program committee. The master’s committee may decide to accept undergraduate students, who are a long way into their studies, to individual courses.

It is important for applicants to have a good knowledge of English, as all teaching takes place in English.

Please send a complete CV as well as proof of previous education in form of certified transcripts with the application form to

The application deadline for individual courses is one month before the course begins.

Information on individual courses can be found under course descriptions on the program pages.

Students at universities in the network of public universities in Iceland (University of Iceland, University of Akureyri, Agricultural University of Iceland, Hólar University College) are excluded from additional course fees but need approval of their home universities.

Erasmus, Nordplus and North to North program applicants also need to apply using the University Centre application form. Fees are in accordance with the relevant program.

Fees for others are ISK 10,000 per ECTS unit (so a 4 ECTS course would therefore cost ISK 40,000).
