Would you like to host an American student

The University Centre of the Westfjords is now seeking host families in the Ísafjörður area willing to invite American university students  to stay in their homes for roughly two weeks, beginning June 18.

These students are participating in a study abroad program organized by the School for International Training (SIT) in Vermont in cooperation with the University Centre. This is the sixth year the Centre coordinates homestays for the SIT students coming to Iceland. So far our experience with homestays has been very positive, families are generally enthousiastic about this experience and students have returned home with a deeper  knowledge of Icelanders and their culture.

The students arrive for the homestay in the Ísafjörður area on June 18 and leave on July 5.

For more information please go here or contact Pernilla Rein, project manager at the University Centre, tel. 820-7579 or pernilla@uw.is. Also there is a Facebook group for the project: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SITFjolskyldursumar2017/
