Two electives start this week

This week two elective courses in the Master´s Program in Coastal and Marine Management start, Human Ecology and Geographical Information Systems (GIS).

 

Human Ecology is taught by Helga Ögmundardóttir, PhD-candidate in cultural anthropology at the Univertity of Uppsala, Sweden, as well as being a researcher at the Institute of Sustainable Development at the University of Iceland.

 

Tom Barry teaches the GIS course. He holds an MA in Environmental Geography from the University of Cork, Ireland, and is a lecturer at the University of Akureyri. Tom Barry is also the Executive Secretary of the Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna Working Group of the Arctic Council (CAFF).
