Tourism Policy Course

Last week a new teaching module began in the Coastal and Marine Management master's program with the course Tourism Policy and Planning in Coastal Areas. The instructor of the course is one of our long returning instructors, Professor Marc L. Miller. Professor Miller teaches at the School of Marine Studies, the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences and at the Department of Anthropology at the University of Washington (Seattle, US) and is now returning for the fifth time to the University Centre to teach his course.

Previously the course has been taught during the summer time, towards the high season of the tourism industry in Iceland, but is now for the first time held during the wintertime. This gives students an opportunity to explore even further the winter tourism in Iceland which is the main area of growth in the industry.

Last week was entirely devoted to lectures but this week students are working on final projects for the course. Next week a new teaching module will begin with the courses Geographical Information Systems and Aquaculture.
