Three-Week Courses end and One Week Courses Begin
Last week two three-week courses in Icelandic language and culture came to an end. The courses were taught at Núpur in Dýrafjörður and in Ísafjörður, organized by the University Centre in cooperation with the Office of International Education. One hundred and seven students attended the two courses, which is a slightly higher number than previous years. As before the majority of the students are here as a part of their Erasmus and Nordplus grant. Those students will be studying at different Icelandic universities either for one or two semesters.
However, teaching Icelandic at the University Centre is far from over this summer. Yesterday a week long advanced course began and next week a week long beginner's course will take place. The advanced course is taught for the first time this year, but will hopefully be an annual event in the academic year of the University Centre in the future.
