The University of Manitoba visits

The Icelandic Field School from the University of Manitoba is visiting the University Centre of the Westfjords for the fourth time this year. The group will stay at the University Centre for two weeks, studying Icelandic language and culture. The highlight of the stay is a program open to the public under the title World Light World Song. This program will start on Sunday June 20 with a hike along one of the traditional Westfjord routes, the Álftafjarðarheiði heath with hiking guide. On Monday June 21 a literary symposium will be held at Hamrar music hall, and on Tuesday June 22 there will be a sailing trip in Ísafjarðardjúp.

The three day program thus combines literature, music and outdoor activities. Further information can be found under World Light - World Song here on the website.

On the occasion the Canadian flag was flagged at the University Centre.
