More than 30 new students begin their Masters' studies at the University Centre of the Westfjords next week, with Orientation Days from 25th to 26th of August. Thats when the newcomers get to meet and greet teachers and other staff at UW, learn to navigate their way around the building and local area, get to know each other and familiarise themselves a bit more with the two Masters' programs and each staff member's role.

There's obviously a lot to take in and to consider when moving to an unfamiliar place in a new country and this year the new students come from very diverse areas from various corners of the world, such as Alaska, Virgin Islands and India. So, it was truly a multicultural and international group that was being welcomed in the Centre's courtyard on Thursday morning. It's important to get off to a good start in the first few days in order for the students' experience to be pleasant as they face two busy years of serious studying.
