Sustainable Transitions Workshop
Last week researchers from Liverpool John Moores University, Southern Connecticut State University and the University Centre of the Westfjords met at the University Centre for a workshop focused on identifying research opportunities related to sustainability transitions in the coastal zone.
The workshop, funded by the Regional Studies Association, covered the theoretical fundamentals to researching sustainability transitions. Discussion focused on a variety of coastal issues such as sea level rise, marine special planning, green energy, and the growth of industries such as aquaculture and tourism. The participants planned the further partnership from the three institutions and mapped out an agenda for further research topics and collaborative activities.
