Possibilites in distance learning at university level

Spring graduates from junior colleges throughout the country are now contemplating the next steps towards higher education. To many distance learning might be an option, especially for those who are not ready to move away from home or are for some reason unable to attend schools in other parts of the country. This week the University Centre of the Westfjords is introducing the various services the Centre has to offer for distance learning students.

The Centre offers reading facilities as well as internet and printing services. In addition students can take their exams at the Centre. Students can also seek the assistance of an academic advisor at the Centre who also can advise those who are still thinking about applying to a university.

Tomorrow representatives from all the universities in Iceland will come to Ísafjörður to introduce the selection of studies available to those graduating from Menntaskólinn á Ísafirði this spring. The introduction will take place in Menntaskólinn and staff members of the University Centre will be there as well to showcase the services it offers university students. The introductions run from 11-13.
