Popcorn and science!

UW took part in a science communication event in Patreksfjörður last month, called "Popcorn, soda, and science." Rannsóknarsamfélag Vestfjarða, which is an interdisciplinary group of researchers from around the Westfjords, gathered at the local movie theatre in Patreksfjörður and invited the public to watch short informal science presentations while having popcorn and soda.

After the presentations there was a short fun quiz to test the audience, congratulations to Gígja who won!

The next day the group visited two local schools to chat with the children about science and research. We are thankful for Vestfjarðastofa who helped organize the event, and for funding from the community grant of Orkubú Vestfjarða.
