Philosophy in Lunch Lecture: Plato about education

This Friday, Oktober 12, Róbert Jack, philosopher, will describe the idea the Greek philosopher Plato had about education.

He will discuss what it means to educate and what can be done to educate people. Among other things, discussion will be about Plato´s Allegory of the Cave, Plato´s three types of People and the Dialogues.

Róbert is a PhD student in Philosophy and is currently working on his PhD thesis abot Plato. He has previously written two books about Philosophy, Every day Philosophy (2006) and Philosophy for you (with Ármann Halldórsson, 2008).

Lunch Lecture is held in the University Centre cafeteria. It is open for the public and starts at 12:10. The talk will be in Icelandic.
