Marine-based tourism

In this week's Lunch Lecture, February 28th, Eva Dögg Jóhannesdóttir biologist and researcher at the Westfjords Natural History Intitute will discuss the findings of a recent research project carried out in the southern parts of the the Westfjords.

The findings are presented in a report „Marine-based tourism in Patreksfjörður, Tálknafjörður and Bíldudalur“ which was written in collaboration between the Westfjords Natural History Institute and Atvest, the Economic Development Agency for the Westfjords.

The main goal of the project is to make the three neighbouring coastal villages Patreksfjordur, Talknafjordur and Bildudalur a destination with a focus on marine-based tourism. Basic research was undertaken  to identify the characteristics of the area as a whole for the development of marine-based tourism.

Lunch Lectures are open to the public and start at 12:10 in the University Centre cafeteria. The talk will be in Icelandic.
