Lunch Lecture: The Icelandic Web of Science
In this Friday's Lunch Lecture, November 18, Dagný Sveinbjörnsdóttir will present the Icelandic Web of Science; the questions, the answers, the users and the various projects that have been spun from the web.
The Icelandic Web of Science was opened in January 2000. During these 12 years, the web has grown and prospered beyond the wildest hopes. The web now houses a vast amount of information that people of all ages makes use of in play, work and study.
Dagný Sveinbjörnsdóttir is as staff member of the Icelandic Web of Science and The Adult Education Centre of the West Fjords (Fræðslumiðstöð Vestfjarða). She holds a BA degree in Geography from the University of Iceland and MA degree in Geography from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
The talk is open to the public and will be held in the University Centre cafeteria, beginning at 12.10. The talk will be in Icelandic.
