Lunch Lecture: Sea ice and climate change
In this week´s Lunch Lecture, Oktober 10, will Björn Erlingsson talk about sea ice and it´s role in the climate system.
The sun has set over the central Arctic Ocean and Arctic sea ice extent is now increasing, still the performance is poor in terms of average years, although it is somewhat better than the 2012. Warming caused by the greenhouse effect has had a greater impact in the Arctic than anywhere else on earth.
Björn is working for the Met Office and holds a B.Sc degree in Physics from the University of Iceland and a Cand.Sc. in Ocean Physics from the University of Oslo.
The Lunch Lecture starts at 12:10 at the University Centre cafeteria. The talk will be in Icelandic.
