Lunch Lecture: Real Men
This lecture on postures of men and the manifestation of masculinity in photographies in selected times during the twentieth century and until present. For example, in the beginning of the twentieth century it was considered masculin to stand at attention, while half a century later, standing at attention is considered fulsome and real men were relaxed and cool.
Sæbjörg Freyja Gísladóttir is a master's student in anthropology at University of Iceland and has been working as journalist at the local newspaper bb.is. She has, amongst other things, worked on people\'s place-connection, national consciousness, manifestation of masculinity in photographies.
