Lunch Lecture: Family albums

Most of us probably have the experience of browsing through old family albums for our own enjoyment. In this Friday´s Lunch Lecture Eggert Þór Bernharðsson, professor from the University of Iceland will talk about the various questions that arise when inspecting and surveying old family albums. Special attention will be on what kind of story can be interpret from an album of this kind, what are the possible values of the images, what might characterize them and what kind of reference can they be.

Eggert Þór Bernharðsson is a professor in Applied Studies in Culture and Communication at the University of Iceland. He graduated with a BA in History from the University of Iceland in 1983 and a Cand.mag. degree i History in 1992. Eggerts lecture is a part of a lecture series of scholars from the University of Iceland in relation to the Jón Sigurðsson professorate.

The Lunch Lecture is held in the University Centre cafeteria. It starts at 12:10 and is open for the public. The talk will be in Icelandic.
