Lunch Lecture: An ageing population - increase of costs
After a nice summer holiday, Lunch Lectures start again . The first one will be held on Friday 26th September. Kristinn H. Gunnarsson, a former member of parliament, will talk about the effect that an ageing population has on the economy.
Following a forecast of a tripling of those older than 65 years old until 2060, he tries to assess the likely increase in costs, and also where the increase will primarily be apparent. Gunnarsson examines several factors that directly affect the cost, especially the cost of long term care, the costs of running f hospitals and drug costs.
The Lunch Lecture is open for the public. It starts at 12:10 in the University Centre cafeteria. The talk will be in Icelandic.
