Lunch Lecture

In this weeks Lunch Lecture will Björn Erlingsson talk about a research project on storm surges that the Met  Office has been working on since the beginning of 2013. A special focus has been on storm surges  in Isafjordur. In short , Björn will explain how statistical analysis is used to predict sea level rises in order to estimate the vulnerability of the coast line to storm surges  and he will also put this into the context of climate change.

Björn is working for the Met  Office and  holds a B.Sc degree in Physics from the University of Iceland and a Cand.Sc. in Ocean Physics from the University of Oslo.

The Lunch Lecture starts at 12:10 at the University Centre cafeteria. The talk will be in Icelandic.
