Israel and the Jewish People: A Nation at a Crossroads
In this weeks Lunch Lecture, Friday November 17, Schimon Grossmann will speak about the situation in Israel. He will show photos and short video clips as he tries to answer questions like:
• Where does the Jewish People come from?
• What is the difference between Christianity and Judaism?
• What is it like to grow up in Israel?
• What sparked the recent conflict in Gaza?
• What is the Israeli economy like?
• Are the news media pro-Israeli or pro-Arab?
Schimon Grossmann, born in Tel Aviv, has spent most of his life in Israel before moving to East Asia and later on to Europe. Currently he studies Coastal and Marine Management at the University Centre of the Westfjords.
The talk is open for the public and starts at 12:10 in the University Centre cafeteria. The talk will be in English.
