Hello Preparatory Students, Goodbye Icelandic students

As usual, August is a busy month at the University Centre. Today we say goodbye to more than a hundred students that have been studying Icelandic with us over the last three weeks. The students will now start their studies in various fields at different Universities in Iceland. We hope that the Westfjords´ experience will be useful on their future endeavors.

Yesterday, teaching started in the Preparatory Program for University Entrance. There are twenty-three students enrolled in the program in the Westfjords. Additionally, the University Centre handles all distance learning for the first semester for the University of Reykjavík. There are 25 students enrolled in this first semester and most of them are in Ísafjörður for the weekend to participate in a meeting that launches the study. This meeting gives the students the opportunity to meet their fellow students and their instructors. Following this weekend, the students will be taught completely by distance learning.
