Easter Break and Thesis Proposal

On Friday March 22 teaching in two elective courses in the Coastal and Marine Management masters program, Fishing Technology and Maritime Transport, came to an end. Students are still hard at work this week before the Easter break and are currently working on their thesis proposals in an individually designed workshop. Some students have already completed their thesis proposal while others are working on a rough draft. In the week after Easter the workshop will continue with thesis proposal presentations by the students where they will get some feedback and suggestions on how to further develop their research ideas and research methods. Dagný Arnarsdóttir, CMM program director and Albertína Friðbjörg Elíasdóttir, project manager run the workshop.

When the workshop concludes the course Economics and Policy will begin. This course is the largest course of the master's program a total of 8 ECTS credit units. The course is taught by Dr. Gabriela Sabau, who has taught the course from the beginning of the CMM master's program. Dr. Sabau teaches at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College at the western campus of Memorial University in Newfoundland, Canada. This year she will be joined by Dr. Daði Már Kristófersson an Associate Professor of Environmental and Resource Economics at the University of Iceland.
