Communicating Climate Change

On Monday June 4 a new teaching module began in the Coastal and Marine Management master's program with the course Communication Climate Change and Sustainable Development. The course mainly focuses on how these issues are portrayed through media coverage. The instructor of the course is Guðni Elísson, a professor of Comparative Literature at the University of Iceland. Along with a number of high profile articles in Icelandic print media, Guðni has published a number of peer-reviewed papers on climate changes and sustainability discourse. Guðni is teaching at the CMM program for the first time and the University Centre would like to welcome him especially.

The course will continue throughout the week, after which a new two week teaching module will begin. During the two week module two courses will be offered, a course on aquaculture and a course on tourism policy and planning in coastal areas.
