Bonus for the Outback: Lunch Lecture

Peter Weiss, UWestfjords' director, will in this Friday's Lunch Lecture, 18.10.2013, discuss ideas in using measures of positive discrimination in financing academic institutions in the countryside. The countryside is not homogeneous and has diverse needs for being backed up by the state. Academic Work is widely financed by the state and brings the respective region considerable income, if the type of institution fits the region. If institutions in the countryside have been positioned with rural development in mind, we should analyze well, which activity fits best which type of rural communities, as well as the state as a whole, measure results and remunerate the institutions respectively: Bonus for the Outback.

The Lunch Lecture starts at 12:10 at the University Centre cafeteria. The talk will be in Icelandic.
