An Introduction to UNIFEM
Steinunn Gyðu- og Guðjónsdóttir, Executive Director of UNIFEM (United Nations Development Fund for Women) in Iceland, will give a talk about the operations of UNIFEM world vide in a lunch lecture on Wednesday April 21.
UNIFEM is the United Nation Development Fund for Women, dedicated to advancing women´s rights and achieving gender equality in around 80 countries. UNIFEM for example aims ending violence against women, and enhancing women´s economic security and rights.
Steinunn will discuss the main emphasis of UNIFEM and the various projects that are carried out to achieve these goals.
The talk will be in English and begins at 12.10 in the University Centre cafeteria. It is open to the public.
