Executive Secretary of the Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna Working Group of the Arctic Council

Tom Barry graduated with an MA in Environmental Geography from the University of Cork, Ireland in 1995. Since graduating he has worked in the GI industry focusing on spatial analysis and designing and implementing GIS systems. He was for 4 years a board member of LÍSA, the Icelandic association responsible for the promotion and development of Geographical Information in Iceland. Between 2001 - 2007 he was employed as a project manager involved in developing the Icelandic Cadastre. He has since 2004 taught GIS and spatial analysis at the University of Akureyri. He is currently employed as the Executive Secretary of the Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna Working Group of the Arctic Council.
