Bradley W. Barr

Bradley W. Barr (USA) earned his BSc from the University of Maine and his MSc in Biology from the University of Massachusetts, and a Ph.D. from the University of Alaska. He is an affiliated Professor at the University of New Hampshire and has been a visiting faculty at the University Centre of the Westfjords since 2008. He was a 2017-2018 Fulbright-NSF Arctic Research Scholar, conducting research entitled “Whaling Heritage in Iceland: Forgotten History”, in collaboration with the Stefansson Arctic Research Institute and University Center of the Westfjords. His areas of expertise includes interagency coordination, maritime heritage in Alaska, ocean wilderness, seabed mapping, enhancing university partnerships, and international collaboration. He sits on the board of directors for several associations: Coastal Zone Canada Association, Science and Management of Protected Areas Association, and George Wright Society.
