The Students' Housing for UW will be located on 20 Fjardarstraeti in Isafjordur, where there used to be a row of old sheds which were demolished in September 2022.
Local architect Kjartan Árnason is behind the basic design.
The two storey buildings will consist of 40 studio apartments and will be 1,220 square metres in total.
The aim is for half of the apartments to be ready by autumn 2023 so that the first residents can move in before the start of the autumn term.
The buildings' location will provide great views out to sea.
