Iceland became a sovereign on 1 December 1918 and since then, the day has been called Sovereignty Day or Fullveldisdagur in Icelandic culture. It is not a public holiday but we are going to commemorate this event by having Icelandic waffles with jam and cream* in the cafeteria at lunchtime. All students and people working in the entire Vestrahús are welcome.
