Please note that participants need to reserve accommodation on their own. Participants are encouraged not to wait too long to book their accommodation as the summer months are usually busy.

You may search for other accommodation on your own, using the websites www.westfjords.is and www.vesturferdir.is. Please note, that if you book your accommodation outside of Þingeyri/Hrafnseyri you are responsible for organizing your own transportation.

On Hrafnseyri there is a basic standard sleeping bag accommodation in a dormitory with access to shower and toilet. In this accommodation students have priority. Please note that there are a limited number of places.

In Þingeyri (350 inhabitants), there are several options. There will be transportation free of charge on behalf of the summer school between Þingeyri and Hrafnseyri (17 km spectacular mountain road) in connection with the teaching either by bus or private car.

Við Fjörðinn is a guesthouse situated in the centre of Þingeyri. It has ten rooms and offers accommodation for groups, families and single persons. One room can accommodate up to four people. Access to fully equipped kitchen and bath is included.

Við Fjörðinn also has two apartments. One of them is at ground level and especially designed for handicapped people. It has a big bedroom for up to three people, a living room with sofa, TV, cooking facilities and a bathroom with shower. The second flat is upstairs with private entrance, two bedrooms, a big kitchen and bathroom with shower. Just outside this house you can have a barbeque and enjoy the view of the magnificent Westfjords mountains.
Prices: With your own sleeping bag (shared bathroom): 3.000 ISK pr. night. Made up Rooms (shared bathroom) 1 pers: 6.000 ISK pr. night. Apartment (private entrance) 13.000 ISK pr. night. Breakfast 1.000 ISK. Lunch bag 900 ISK. Food made with local products and barbeques can be arranged.

Hotel Sandafell is a hotel situated in the centre of Þingeyri. It offers 8 rooms, incl. 2 family rooms. All the rooms are big and with a beautiful view. All rooms have TV and guests have free access to wireless internet. During summertime the restaurant offers good food for tourists, at a fair price. Breakfast is served in the restaurant.
