Ready to Apply?

Please be aware that your application will not be processed until all required documentation has been received. Applicants are required to provide the following supporting documents: 

1. Curriculum Vitae (CV) – A complete and recent CV in English (pdf).

2. Letter of intent – A statement of your objectives, fields of interest and expectations regarding the studies.

3. Transcripts* – Official evidence of previous education in the form of degree certificates or certified transcripts. Please note that all applicants must submit certified transcripts in addition to the documents uploaded with the application. Transcripts may be sent by post to the Director of Education and Teaching at the University Centre, Suðurgata 12, 400 Ísafjörður, Iceland. Graduation transcripts with electronic signature sent directly from the relevant university to are also accepted. 

4. Two reference letters - References must be send by the refering person to Referees may write a personal letter of evaluation or complete this reference form. At least one of the referees should be able to judge your academic performance. 

5. Certification of English Language proficiency CEFR level C1 (if applicable). If the test has not been taken by the application deadline, applicants are required to send the test scores as soon as possible. If applicants fail to prove their proficiency in English, the application cannot be processed. For further information, please contact

* A certified transcript is a document issued by the educational institution on its official paper, signed and certified by the institution with the institution’s stamp in colour, or otherwise certified by an accredited, official authority. We reserve the right to request additional information and/or the original documents. If a document/statement is not in English a translation may be required.
