Open position at the University Centre: Marine Innovation

Committed in its aim to enhance knowledge in the field of marine issues as well as to increase the number of its students, the University Centre of the Westfjords announces an open position for Programme Director Marine Innovation. The new programme director will, in close cooperation with the existing programme director in the field of coastal and marine management, strengthen the existing programme and develop new courses in the field of Marine Innovation. The programme director will be leading the cooperation between the University Centre and relevant businesses, and should have experience in applying for research funding.

With this new position, the University Centre aims to secure the best possible service for the master's programme, secure good relations with relevant businesses as well as to increase its possibilities for applying for research funding. The new programme director should have the ability to teach at an academic level.

Concurrently, the University Centre would like to draw attention to an open position for marine biologist at the Vör Marine Research Centre in Ólafsvík/Breiðafjörður. At Vör one of the former students of Coastal and marine management is now working, having graduated in June 2010.
