New CMM Program Director
The University Centre of the Westfjords received 13 applications for the position of Programme Director for the master‘s in Coastal and Marine Management, advertised due to maternity leave.
All applicants held at least one masters degree, four applicants held PhDs. Nine applicants held a degree in integrated coastal zone management, resource management, or marine sciences. Six applicants were foreigners. As this isn‘t a teacher nor research position, relevant management experience was important.

Eight applicants were invited for job interviews, personally or through skype. The application committee is pleased to announce that Dagný Arnarsdóttir has been offered and accepted the position.
Dagný Arnarsdóttir holds a masters in Environmental and Resource management from the University of Iceland. She has experience in human resource management, event management, public relations and teaching. She has been working for the Society of Environmental Scientists and is currently a project manager in the international programme in Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Iceland.
