Internship position at the EU ARCTIC Forum
The EU ARCTIC Forum is looking for an intern to start as soon as possible to work with us for a period of between 4-6 months.
About the EU ARCTIC Forum:
The EU ARCTIC Forum is a policy interface between EU institutions in particular the European Parliament, Commission and EEAS, and Arctic actors from politics, business, science institutes, and networks of science and business - both from the Arctic and outside the Arctic region; thus functioning as a think tank and bridge-builder. The EU ARCTIC Forum started as a cross-party and cross-sector platform in the European Parliament to facilitate a well informed and balanced debate, as well as to bolster the development of a coherent EU Policy on the Arctic Region and has a built a track record for involving decision makers from the political, academic and economic spheres and bringing together actors from Europe and the Arctic.
We are currently in the process of broadening the scope and basis of the Forum, which is why we are looking for a motivated and dedicated intern to work with us.
What we are looking for:
Your profile:
- An interest in Geopolitical and Arctic issues is considered a plus
- You have a completed/are currently completing a university degree in the field of political sciences, international relations, economics, environmental studies or other Arctic-related field
- Fluent English; French and/or German skills are a plus
- Nordic Languages and Russian are a plus
- Understanding of EU institutions and their Working Modus is appreciated
- You are familiar with MS Office/ Open Office; Plus is experience in: Wordpress; Google Apps, Teamwork
- Some familiarity with social media platforms is an asset
- Ability to take initiative and independently plan and organise to meet deadlines;
- You have a positive attitude, and you are a flexible team player
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the latest European news/activities in the EU Foreign, Environmental& Climate Change and Research policies
- Preparing and participating in conferences, workshops and networking events
- Conducting research on various issues and drafting articles
- Managing and updating the website, social media, databases and mailing lists
- Assisting with the drafting of the documents, communication,
- Assisting with project management
- Performing various administrative tasks
